The Intercultural Dialogue Institute(IDI) Calgary, expresses profound sadness at the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis this morning. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Catholic community and all those who have been touched by his message of compassion, peace, and interfaith understanding.

Throughout his life, Pope Francis exemplified humility, openness, and commitment to dialogue, promoting harmony across diverse communities worldwide. His profound piety, devotion to God, and lifelong dedication to the Church significantly shaped his mission. He notably advocated for social justice, emphasised the rights and dignity of all individuals, and highlighted environmental responsibility through his encyclical “Laudato Si.”

His dedication to serving humanity and his sincere engagement in interreligious conversations have left a lasting impact, inspiring countless individuals to build bridges of understanding and respect.
